The reason for more scattering of blue colour is that the wavelength of the blue light is shorter than the other light. When the sun's light reaches the earth's atmosphere it is scattered, or deflected, by the tiny molecules of gas (mostly nitrogen and oxygen) in. Because it's scattered more effectively than longer wavelength forms of light, like red, yellow, green, and orange, the sky appears blue.
